Abstract

A significant increase in the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis among the population of Ukraine due to lower level of health in the general population, changes in the structure of clinical forms towards atypical and asymptomatic, lesions on the social well-off strata of the population - this is an incomplete description of the features of tuberculosis infection today, describing the epidemiological situation in Ukraine as critical.

The aim of the study was to determine the clinical features of the major dental diseases in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.

The study involved 119 patients (71 men, 48 women) patients with pulmonary tuberculosis at the age of 20 to 74 years who were hospitalized in the Kyiv City TB Hospital No.1 dispensary department.

Dental disease in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis is characterized by prevalence and tendency to progression, which leads to loss of teeth and complicates the course of tuberculosis process.

Based on clinical and laboratory observation and comparative analysis revealed a symptom characteristic of the state of the oral cavity in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.

The results can be used to justify the choice of methods of prevention and treatment of dental diseases and the development of effective treatment and preventive complexes in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.
